II.3 化学応用工学科

現代の化学技術の飛躍的発展は,化学の基礎理論とその応用技術に負うところが大きい.化学応用工学科は,各種の高機能性物質材料の分子設計と合成手法の開発に関する物質合成化学講座,物質の構造と機能の実用的応用の基礎となる集合状態の特性を微視的立場から解明する物質機能化学講座ならびに化学工業における製造プロセスの開発と装置およびプラントの設計保全に関する化学プロセス工学講座からなる.これらの三大講座が,それぞれ相互に協力して物質の分子設計から製造工程にわたって,分析化学,無機化学,有機化学·高分子化学,物理化学,電気化学,環境科学,化学装置工学,単位操作,反応工学,反応工程設計,酵素応用など,広範囲の教育·研究を行い,産業界の要請に応えうる人材養成をめざしている.

本講座は,有機合成化学,高分子合成化学,および機能性高分子に関する研究グループから成る.多様な元素を自在に組合せた新化合物の合成をターゲットにする合成化学は化学の基礎である.有機化合物·高分子化合物の新合成法の開発,構造解析,化学結合·反応機構の解明,物性の評価などに基づいた基礎研究とともに応用面にも着目した先進的な付加価値の高い新機能性物質の合成·開発をめざした研究·教育を行っている.
